Out of envy they had cursed her.
Out of spite they had wronged her.
Sprung up from the vile villainy of their dark and terrible thoughts were the plans they formed against her.
Plans born of, and allowed to grow to fruition through the withered and corrupt natures of their blackened withered hearts.
She was the guardian of the glen.
The splendor of the woods.
She held with in and without the beauty and the splendor of God's creation...
Until they had their way with her.
Twisted she became. Turned from the glory she had known.
Torn from the beauty she had once possessed.

Why then should she allow them to deform her purpose or steal from her the cause to which she had given so much?
No. She would remain the maiden of the forest. She would be, in heart if not in flesh, the spirit of nature once more.
Renewed in heart she again walked the forest tending to her woods and all that dwelt within, the beauty of her heart bringing joy to the glen once more. Little did she know that events were already in place that would change the course of the life...
